She also talked with the families of children living with autism to learn about the toll it has taken on their lives and how they move forward with their lives every single day, even in the face of great odds.

One of the guests Katie Couric invited on the show was filmmaker Andrew Jenks. He is most well known for his show World of Jenks, a show where he meets interesting individuals and spends a day or two in their shoes. From becoming a rapper for a day to living with a man with weight loss struggles to hanging out with a young man struggling with autism.
He is stopping by Katie to talk about his experiences of living the life of an autistic person.
Dr. Temple Grandin: Autism Activist
Dr. Temple Grandin is an amazing women. After being diagnosed with brain damage when she was younger, Dr. Grandin was able to overcome tremendous odds to get her doctoral degree in animal science. Since then she has been working with animals to calm them on their way to slaughter as well as being an activist for autism. She even came up with the hug box for autistic children.
Early Detection for Autism
Liz Feld, the president of Autism Speaks, also stopped by to talk about the advancements happening in the field of autism. From the new scientific developments to the early detection methods being used around the country.
