Katie Couric: Twins Episode
Katie Couric had a twins extravaganza on her show February 6 2013 with her entire audience being comprised of twins and all her guests being either twins or the parents who have to figure out how to take care of them.

Katie had twins in her audience for her twins episode, talked with the Hayes family about their reality show Table for 12 and found out how they have dinner.
From Kate Plus Eight to Six Little McGhees, America is mesmerized by multiples. And it isn’t just the television shows that have been making you wonder if you are seeing more twins around you. About one in 30 births result in twins, about 50 percent more twins than were being born just 10 years ago.
Katie Couric: The Hayes Family, Table For 12 Review
The Hayes family found out it isn’t cheaper by the dozen. It is actually a lot more expensive to have 10 children. They have one set of 16-year-old twins, one set of 14-year-old twins and eight-year-old sextuplets. When they were approached about a reality show they were unsure if they wanted to do it at first but opted to let the cameras start rolling after many people urged them to do the show. Betty said she wanted to open the window into her family and show everyone what it is like having such a big family and what it is like raising a child with cerebral palsy.
Looking past the struggles of raising 10 kids, the most remarkable thing about the Hayes family is their commitment to family dinner. Although Betty said it is hard to cook dinner for 12 people every night, it is worth it to spend time with her family. Her favorite time of the day is around twilight she said, when the kids are crowded in the kitchen telling her about their days and helping her make dinner.
Betty doesn’t need any type of special organization anymore either. She told Katie Couric she used to have charts to remind her when one child was changed and the other one was fed and the other one had his diaper changed, but now she just has the calendar on the fridge. “I am a taxi driver,” Betty said. “Sometimes things overlap and I have to get grandma to take them somewhere.”

How would you feel if you had such a big family? The Hayes kids said their mother hardly yells about anything in the house, but they do admit to fighting with each other often. Some of the older children in the family said it was hard to come home from school and have to help with homework when you haven’t had a great day, but they said they like having such a large family.
As for Betty and Eric’s marriage, Eric joked saying they get alone time every night between midnight and 6 a.m. which they obviously spend sleeping. Well, that probably isn’t a joke.
