A Princess Diana dress exhibit has gone up in Kensington Palace. Throughout her life, Princess Diana was always a fashion trendsetter, and the five dresses on display in the palace give us a glimpse into her earlier years, when she first started to define her style. There are bright colors, lots of sparkles, and plenty of shoulder pads. The centerpiece of the collection is a strapless midnight blue evening gown is quite a show-stopping piece. Another dress by Kathryn Walker is one she wore on a visit of Brazil.

Over the next two years, there will be 21 dresses on display at Kensington Palace, showing us Princess Diana’s style through the ages. With Princess Diana’s fashion coming to the forefront, there is no doubt that the public eye will be turning to Kate Middleton to see how her fashion sense evolves. Will Kate be as influential as the late Princess Diana? Only time will tell.
