Good Morning America: Zara Vs H&M Fashion
Zara, the clothing superstore, is saying it will not add plus sizes to their collection because it will cost too much. This is bad news for Americans, with 35% of America being obese, compared to other parts of the world, such as Italy and France, who have only 10% obesity ratings.

Good Morning America reports Zara will not expand stores in America because they do not want to expand their sizes any larger than a very small “large.”
Zara is the top fashion retailer in the world, beating out H&M and other global fashion forward companies that turn out new collections of clothing in just two weeks’ time.
GMA: Zara Plus Sized Clothing Line?
But if you are like me, you have probably never even seen one of these stores. I didn’t even know it was a store, let alone see one in person.
With nearly 1,700 stores around the world and only 45 in the US, it is no surprise I had never seen one. And I probably won’t in the near future either. The store is refusing to expand its sizes to plus sizes, even though many other global retailers have been doing very well in the American market with plus sizes. And no plus sizes means not expanding any more in the US.
Good Morning America: Plus Sized Bloggers Vs Zara
GMA went to Zara with two plus sized bloggers to see if they could find something to wear. Three bags and countless hours later, the women had not found anything that fit. Even the XL clothing in the store wasn’t close to anything they could fit into.
But they were not discouraged. They said you simply have to be creative. One blogger hiked a dress up high and made it into something completely different. She said with a few accessories the dress could work well. The other blogger said plus sized women have the money to spend and they are willing to spend it.
But they both admitted they will always have a sweet spot in their heart for Zara shoes and handbags.
Zara was never reached for a comment.
