Edward Snowden’s Flight to Cuba Missed (Seeking Refuge in Ecuador?)
Edward Snowden, the CIA analyst who leaked details of the NSA’s mass surveillance program to the press, is on the run after he failed to show up for a flight in Moscow that was supposed to fly him to Cuba, where he was rumored to have possibly received asylum.
It should come as no surprise that Snowden is seeking refuge in Ecuador, as that is the same country that, in 2012, granted Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, asylum there in 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden on assault charges.
