Sharon Osbourne recently opened up about the shame she felt after undergoing gastric bypass surgery in 1999. She said that at the time, it felt like an embarrassing shortcut to weight loss. She had the band removed in 2006, and said that she now keeps her weight under control with the Atkins diet. She also admitted that sticking to the low carb diet is tough, and she finds herself cheating at times. Sharon Osbourne’s honesty about the subject of weight loss is refreshing.

GMA: 2014 BET Awards
Chris Rock hosted the BET Awards on June 29 2014, and other big stars included Nelly, Nick Cannon, Rev Run, M.C. Hammer, and that’s only the beginning. Missy Elliott performed with Pharrell, Jennifer Hudson gave a high-energy performance, and Beyoncé and Jay-Z finished up their On the Run world tour by performing.
Pharrell wore Stan Smith shoes on the red carpet that had custom drawings. Gabrielle Union dressed to impress. Nicki Minaj told the audience that she wants the world to know that she writes her own raps. Lionel Richie accepted the lifetime achievement award, but apparently they misspelled his last name.
The BET Awards was one of the first times that Kerry Washington stepped out since giving birth just two months ago. She said that life was extraordinary, and said that she’s had her hands full, but that she was glad to be back out for the awards. The biggest surprise of the night was when Chris Brown stepped on stage to perform. It was his first performance since his release from jail earlier in June.
