Michael Douglas was on Good Morning America recently to talk about his new film And So It Goes, and how much he enjoyed working with Diane Keaton. Also, two of the semi-finalists in the 5 Alarm Firefighters Challenge were showcased on the show.
GMA: Michael Douglas And So It Goes
Michael Douglas was on Good Morning America to talk about And So It Goes. In the movie, Michael Douglas plays a widower who’s taking care of his granddaughter he’s just met. George Stephanopoulos asked if it was hard to play an absolute jerk, and Michael Douglas joked that it comes easy to him. Michael Douglas said that what attracts him to these parts is the challenge of convincing an audience to like an unlikeable character.
Michael Douglas said that comedy doesn’t come naturally for him, but he loves nothing more than making an audience laugh. He said it’s hard to be funny on movie sets because you don’t hear an immediate reaction.

Rob Reiner worked on And So It Goes as well, and Michael Douglas loved working with him again. Michael Douglas said their first film together was in 1968, which apparently got very bad reviews. Michael Douglas said that they’re both second-generation actors with success, and they’re a rare breed.
Michael Douglas said he also loved working with Diane Keaton. He said she seems to be more comfortable in front of the camera than not. He also said she’d wear her headphones up until filming, so you never knew what you were going to get when the headphones came off.
Good Morning America: 5 Alarm Firefighters Challenge
There are two semi-finalists in the 5 Alarm Firefighters Challenge that were showcased on Good Morning America recently. The first semi-finalist is the McAllen Fire Department from McAllen, TX. They’re a 100-year-old department with 167 firefighters. The second semi-finalist is the Clearcreek Fire District in Springboro, OH. Both departments said that if they win the money, they’d donate the money to charity.
