GMA: Liam James The Way, Way Back Preview
The Way, Way Back‘s Liam James and Toni Collette came on the show to talk briefly about the upcoming film. Liam James said that filming the movie, where he was working with actors like Steve Carell and having amazing conversations in the fictional car ride while sitting next to the “spoiling mustard,” as he put it, it was a great experience.
Toni Collette took Liam under her wing when she came on to the set after Liam and Sam Rockwell had been working together for a few weeks. Sam plays a water park manager that Liam’s character, Duncan, befriends, and Liam drew some eerily similar parallels between Sam’s character and some of the actual water park managers that were at the real-life park the movie was shot at.
This is Toni’s first time working with Steve Carell since Little Miss Sunshine, and she said that it was just as fun the second time around as it was the first time around, as both casts were brilliant, according to her. Liam was glad that these actors that had already worked together on other films were so welcoming of him.
