Good Morning America: Tom Cruise Friend Speaks Out
Tom Cruise has done some pretty crazy things in his life. He has flown a jet in Top Gun, accomplished some impossible missions in numerous movie and even climbed the highest building in the world. But the hardest thing he has eer had to do is just starting. After the divorce from his ex-wife Katie Holmes, Holmes moved across the country, from California to New York.
One of Cruise’s best friends, writer and director Christopher McQuarrie, said Cruise talks to his daughter Suri everyday, numerous times a day. But McQurire said Cuise has not been able to see his daughter for over two months because of prior film commintments. McQuarrie said Cruise has to go because milions of dollars and countless jobs depend on him.
All the plot twists, which are usually in his movies, have now crossed over in to his real life.
GMA: J.K. Rowling’s New Novel, The Casual Vacancy
J.K. Rowling’s newest novel, and her first time writing an adult themed novel, is hitting stores tomorrow. More than one million people have already reserved the book, titled The Casual Vacancy, which deals with the secrets and lies behind the closed doors of a small town.
Rowling sat down with Nightline anchor Cynthia McFadden and told her she was trying to get away from Harry Potter, but also said it was Harry that saved her from years of depression. She also said Harry was the one that gave her self confidence in her writing and gave her something she loved to do.
Rowling said her new novel is a dark comedy with themes surrounding death and cutting. Rowling said the book took her five years to write and a Rihanna song actually plays a prominent role in plot of the story. She also mentioned for the first time on camera that she used to have OCD when she was younger. She used these experiences to mold one of the characters in the novel.
So what is she planning on doing after her book tour? Getting a new puppy to take care of.
Good Morning America: Modern Family‘s Julie Bowen
Good Morning America welcomed Julie Bowen, of Modern Family fame, to the show.
The two-time Emmy winner said she was sort of embarrassed of winning the award twice and hopes everyone else on the cast will win one someday as well. As for her excessively talked-about acceptance speech, she said she had nothing planned to say because she never thought she would win more than one Emmy.
The mother of three also said she was having a hard time before the Emmys trying to go to lots of Emmy parties, find different dresses to wear and take care of her three children. Good thing she thanked her nannies in the acceptance speech.
Good Morning America: Julie Bowen Can Dance (Sort Of)
Bowen told Good Morning America that Sofia Vergara is her favorite cast member and sort of her idol. Bowen said Vergara is so feminine and comfortable being a women, something Bowen has been trying to do her whole life. She even joked she wanted to be just like Sofia Vergara when she grew up.
As for the dancing, Bowen tried to show Good Morning America how Vergara can dance so seductively but had little luck. She kind of looked like a wet noodle flopping around. A very pretty wet noodle, but a wet noodle none the less.
And how come Sofia Vergara’s dress ripped while she was sitting in a seat, but at the after party she was dancing like a madwoman and it held together? Mysteries.
