Game Of Thrones Season Premiere
I’m afraid the only way to make Stannis Baratheon’s plot line interesting is to also talk about Daenerys Targaryen. They are in no way connected, but we have to talk about what happened with Davos and Stannis. So, the boring news first.
Game Of Thrones: Davos Is Alive
Stannis is still being controlled like a puppet by Melisandre. “The night is dark and full of terrors” lady is getting on my nerves. She’s been annoying me from the first episode of season two and I would love to see her plunge to her death from the top of Dragonstone.
Davos is alive after the Blackwatter battle. He saw his son blown up by Tyrion Lannister’s wildfire and then washed ashore on a lonely stone outcropping in the sea. I hope G.R.R. Martin has kept him alive for something more interesting. Anyways, he is overcome with guilt from his son’s death and wants to see Stannis. He gets dropped off at Dragonstone to confront his one and true king. His goal is to stop the red priestess. I have little faith in him.

Game Of Thrones: Melisandre Controls Stannis
Melisandre has her evil claws plunged deep into Stannis. He’s not even happy to see that his friend Davos is alive. He blames Davos for the devastation at Blackwater. Stannis is truly broken and licking his wounds. Melisandre has been burning anyone that opposes Stannis and saying it’s all for the good of the Lord of Light.
Melisandre said she could have saved the men at Blackwater, but she wasn’t there so we’ll never know. Davos swears she is evil and a product of demons. To which I say, “duh!”
Game Of Thrones: Daenerys Sets Sail
Daenerys is on the move with her Dothraki. She’s bought ships and her dragons are getting bigger. They’re now about the size of Labradors with giant wings. The Dothraki are not doing well with their sea legs and the dragons aren’t growing fast enough for Dany.
Game Of Thrones: The Unsullied
Things pick up when she lands in Astapor. She hopes to acquire an army to reclaim the Iron Throne. She finds the Unsullied. They are eunuchs that are fiercely disciplined and feel no pain. They will stand for days without water or food. Dany pretended to not speak the language of the slave master to get an inside look at the conditions of the Unsullied.
Death means nothing to these men. The slave trader takes off a man’s nipple in order to get the point across. The slave said he was only too pleased to serve and doesn’t even flinch. The slave trader told Dany that the Unsullied kill newborns to get rid of their weakness. He has 8,000 to sell and these treasures are going fast!
Game Of Thrones: Daenerys The Mother
Dany can’t have children because of her dealing with evil magic in season one. She has a maternal instinct. This is the first sign of wanting to protect humans, usually it’s just her dragons. Dany knows she wants all of these Unsullied in order to protect them and the newborns they kill.
Dany sees a young girl on the docks and is intrigued by her. She follows the girl to the edge and the girl tosses her a ball. The ball twists apart and a deadly scorpion is inside. A cloaked figure comes out of nowhere and kills the scorpion, saving Dany’s life. The little girl proves to be a warlock in disguise, trying to kill her.
The cloaked figure reveals himself. Jorah Mormont knows immediately who the man is, but Dany is stumped. It’s Barristan Selmy, a traitor to the Targaryen family, that just saved Dany’s life. He wants to pledge his allegiance to Dany and her bid for the Iron Throne. Cliffhanger!
