Ellen: Reality Roundup
Ellen DeGeneres said she knows a lot about TV, as a talk show host and JC Penney spokeswoman. She had updates on a few reality shows you may or may not have heard about.
“If I see it, you have to see it,” she explained, before introducing some bizarre clips from some of TV’s most outrageous new shows.

Ellen shared a clip of the outlandish behavior of pageant moms and their young kids in "Toddlers & Tiaras."
Ellen: My Crazy Obsession TV Show
First, Ellen showed a clip of a couple whose doll collection includes over 5,000 members, including a Cabbage Patch Doll named Kevin, whom the set up on a play date with other dolls.
This seems insane, and you can watch it on TLC. These are adults who play with dolls, and they even have a carousel swingset for the Cabbage Patch Dolls. The adults are acting like the dolls are real children. That’s upsetting.
“Who here feels better about talking to your pets now?” Ellen asked.
Ellen: Mob Wives TV Show
Ellen said housewives reality shows are popular these days. Mob Wives features women whose husbands are connected to the mafia. She showed a clip of Big Ang, who was being courted by a man who gave her a Pomeranian dog as a gift.
“I have nothing to say about that,” Ellen said, because she feared mob retaliation.
Ellen: My Strange Addiction
The title of the show My Strange Addiction is self explanatory. Jillian is addicted to the smell of Pine Cleaner, and even wears a surgical mask to inhale the chemical.
This can’t be healthy for you. She explained how she turns her bathroom into a “pine sauna” to treat herself. This woman could have brain damage from inhaling the chemicals, right?
That’s still not as bad as the episode with the man who was in a relationship with his car. Should we really be exploiting and enabling these people?
Ellen: Toddlers & Tiaras
I can’t believe the audience cheered for a clip of Toddlers & Tiaras, the infamous reality series where parents exploit their children in beauty pageant competitions. The clip Ellen shared featured 6-year-old Alana, who calls herself the Honey Boo Boo Child.
Her mother said a common trick in pageants is to get kids hopped up on “special juice,” which is basically sugary soda.
“Those people with the dolls seem less crazy to me now,” Ellen said. “That’s not right.”
Know & Go To Ellen’s 1,500th Show
Ellen told DJ Tony that her talk show is about to celebrate its 1,500th episode. She credited “special juice” with helping her achieve this milestone. To celebrate, Ellen is giving away a trip to that taping for one lucky viewer.

Ellen: Apple iPad 3
Ellen announced that the latest version of their popular tablet, the iPad 3, is coming out tomorrow, March 7, 2012.
“Because when something is wildly successful, you keep making newer and better versions,” she said. “They do it with everything except for Finding Nemo.”
Ellen showed off one unreported feature of the iPad 3: her version makes toast. That is one surprising way to make a tablet even better, but I’d worry that crumbs will get in the hardware.
Ellen Dancer of the Day
Ellen featured another dancer of the day from her audience. Has she decided not to dance with the audience anymore? This is two days in a row of no dancing. That’s scary. I hope she’s OK.
