Ellen: Jillian Michaels & Sean Hayes
Ellen’s show kicked off January 28 2013 with an unusual cold open to Ellen’s dressing room, where The Biggest Loser’s Jillian Michaels, one of today’s guests, yelled at Ellen to get the show right today and to make sure to do a good job.
“If you’re going to cry, you need to get out of my gym,” Jillian Michaels said. “This is my dressing room,” Ellen said.
As Jillian Michaels walked out of the dressing room, she asked the other guest today, Sean Hayes, how she did with Ellen. Sean Hayes yelled at her until she ran away crying, then Ellen came out of her dressing room with a tub of popcorn.
Ellen: My Strange Addiction & Buckwild
Once Ellen’s show officially began and she was on stage, she decided to catch everyone up on the reality TV shows they may have missed in their busy lives.
She showed them a clip from My Strange Addiction, about a couple obsessed with cats. They had about 17 cats between them. The clip was of a birthday party for one of the cats. Ellen said it was weird how obsessed they were with cats, because she always talks with her cats about the show over wine.
Ellen showed another clip from Buckwild, a show about people in the south. The clip showed a garbage man who said he didn’t have Facebook or a cell phone, so he just hollered at people. “He doesn’t have a cell phone or Facebook page, but he has his own reality TV show,” Ellen said. “I’m glad the country is moving in the right direction.”
Ellen: Tony Marriage Watch 2013
Ellen said it was time for Tony Marriage Watch 2013, where she asks her DJ, Tony, if he’s getting married yet. Today he said it won’t be happening soon. Ellen said he should keep her posted, because she has Tony Baby Watch, too. Ellen showed a picture of a baby with Tony’s picture on it.
Ellen: Hot Glam Girl
Then it was time for Hot Glam Girl, a segment where Ellen showed pictures fans sent in. One such picture was of a woman and her mother in 1991, where they had their heads titled towards each other with roses in their mouths. When the camera zoomed out, Ellen had a rose in her mouth, too.
Another picture was one a woman sent in who said she took it to celebrate her fiftieth birthday. The woman was wearing a big hat and was set against a pink background. Ellen said she wanted to celebrate, too, so she showed the same picture with her face Photoshopped in.
Ellen: Australia Trip Contest & the Return Of Carly

Because Ellen is going to Australia in March, she wanted to give an audience member the chance to go to Australia, too. Ellen called out the names of two audience members and they came down to the stage to compete against each other for the chance to win a six night, seven day stay in either Sydney or Melbourne.
Carly, came by to help Ellen out. Carly is an Australian fan who won the chance to come see Ellen last week. Now, being an actual Australian, she helped Ellen pick the brains of these two contestants.
Ellen: Off the Wall-aby Game
Ellen played “Off The Wall-aby Game” with the audience members, where she asked a question of the two audience members. The audience members were hanging from wires on the wall. For every question they got wrong, they were lowered down to the floor.
Carly and Ellen took turns asking the questions. The contestants were visibly nervous. The questions were things like “who sings the song ‘Shut Up and Drive‘” and “how many hours are there in three days?”
One of the audience members was a math teacher, but was completely stumped by the latter question, because she was so nervous. One contestant won the chance to go to Australia and the other won a $1,000 gift card.
