Taye Diggs came by Ellen to talk about his new show Murder In The First and Ellen said she loved his fashion sense. He wore orange pants, a straw fedora, and a blue t-shirt. Ellen asked Taye Diggs if he was celebrating Cinco De Mayo and he said, “Any excuse to have an adult beverage.” Then he said he wanted some of what Twitch was drinking, which was a giant margarita glass filled with bourbon.

Taye Diggs said his trailer on the Murder In The First set only gets one channel, NBC, so he’s constantly watching Ellen. Ellen said she should work that in every trailer so that everyone watches her show.

Ellen: Taye Diggs Scaring People

Taye Diggs said he loves scaring people and he tried scaring Ellen by yelling and waving her arms. It didn’t work, but he said it gets most people. Then Ellen did it to him and he got scared. Ellen said she was doing it to show him it doesn’t work on people, but it actually worked.

Taye Diggs said that when he gets scared, he’ll turn into his mother and say things like “Heavens to Betsy.”

Taye Diggs said he gets to see his son every few weeks. Taye Diggs films in San Francisco and his son is in New York with his mother, Broadway star Idina Menzel.

Ellen: Taye Diggs Magic Mike & Scare

Taye Diggs is rumored to be in the new Magic Mike movie. “I don’t know why there weren’t no black people in the first one,” Taye Diggs joked. While Taye Diggs was talking, a man came out in a Magic Mike costume and scared him. Taye Diggs immediately jumped out of his chair and held his coffee mug like a weapon. This was a good reflex, but I was really hoping to hear “Heavens To Betsy.”

Anyway, Taye Diggs said he wasn’t sure whether he would be in the new Magic Mike, but he really hopes he will. He also said that Twitch should be in it, too. Twitch said he was ready.
