Ellen: Jennifer Aniston Oscar Snub
Jennifer Aniston came by Ellen to talk about her new movie Cake. She was famously snubbed from an Oscar nomination in the movie, despite a lot of buzz beforehand and nominations from other awards shows like SAG, the People’s Choice Awards, and the Golden Globes. Jennifer said it felt good that so many people were upset she didn’t get nominated. “I’m the number one snubbed. That’s the silver lining,” she joked.
Jennifer Aniston said her movie hasn’t even been released yet and it feels great to get so much love for the movie before it even came out.
Ellen: Jennifer Aniston Cake
Ellen said Jennifer really disappeared into the role. Her character is a woman who has extreme chronic pain after a car crash and has a great personal loss. She’s addicted to drugs and booze and doesn’t want to live. But she can’t make the decision to kill herself. This movie is about her journey to finding something to live for.
Jennifer Aniston said a lot of people have reached out to her to talk about their chronic pain and how they’re going through something similar to her character.
Ellen: Jennifer Aniston Terrified of Water
Jennifer Aniston is terrified of water. She had a circular swimming pool when she was 5 and she accidentally rode her tricycle into the pool and she panicked and didn’t know what to do. Her brother dove in and pulled her out.
There’s a scene in the movie where her character is holding onto a bunch of weights and is trying to kill herself. Jennifer Aniston had to jump into a pool and sink to the bottom and she was panicked the whole time. She said they did around 33 takes.
Ellen joked it would’ve been worse for her if she had to do the scene with a tricycle.
Ellen: Jennifer Aniston Kate Hudson Golden Globes
Jennifer Aniston was photographed on the red carpet for the Golden Globes grabbing Kate Hudson’s behind. Jennifer said that she has a very irresistible butt and she had to touch it. Jennifer said after it happened, Kate said the photo was going to go everywhere.
Ellen: Jennifer Aniston Birthday Cake Game
Ellen and Jennifer Aniston’s birthdays are close together and they’re coming up. So Ellen and Jennifer played a game with two people from the audience named Marissa and Ashley. Marissa and Ashley put their faces in a cardboard wall and Ellen and Jennifer threw cakes at them. If they hit them in the face, they won tickets to Ellen’s birthday show.
Ellen was a lot better at this than Jennifer, probably because it’s Ellen’s show and she’d done this before. But Jennifer made up for it by running up to her and pushing the pie in her face.
Both Marissa and Ashley won tickets to the show. Cake opens in theaters January 22, 2015.
