Ellen: Cee Lo Green New Holiday Album & Voice Hiatus

Cee Lo Green dropped by Ellen to perform a cover of the song, “What Christmas Means to Me” off his new holiday album, Cee Lo’s Magic Moment.

Cee Lo Green said he had a hand in every step of the production process of the album, including designing the cover. The cover is Cee Lo Green driving a Rolls-Royce pulled by reindeer. His Voicecostar Christina Aguilera appears on the album with him on “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.”

Ellen asked Cee Lo if she even needed to ask him who he was rooting for on The Voice tonight. He said she didn’t. Nicolas, from Team Cee Lo, is one of two last artists standing.

“Nicolas is like a noun: he’s a person, place and thing,” Cee Lo said. Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera are both taking a one-year hiatus from The Voice. Shakira and Usher are both sitting in for the year to replace them. Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will both still be there.

“It’s very difficult,” Cee Lo Green said. “You have to understand that we are trying to multi-task very dynamic careers. I’m still in music. I don’t do television for a living. I’m a musician.” He said he’s going to go back to the studio and he’s going on tour. He said he loved the show and that NBC was very gracious to allow him and Christina to have a hiatus.

Ellen asked Cee Lo Green if the rumor was true that he takes a stuffed panther with him everywhere he goes. He said it’s true.

He takes it with him on airplanes and even sleeps with it. He said it’s just for fun.
