Ellen: Simon Cowell and Britney Spears Interview
They are two of the biggest names in music who will join forces on September 12 2012 for the season premiere of The X Factor on FOX at 8 p.m. Ellen was joined by Simon and Britney as they talked The X Factor and Simon’s feud with The Voice.
Ellen: Britney Spears New X Factor Judge
Britney said her makeup artist was on the road with her for eight months and she was actually Simon’s makeup artist first and they talked about it and she told her how much fun she had on the show. Then Simon gave her a charming phone call and she couldn’t resist.

Simon said, “I was on full charm alert. And actually she was very, very sweet and humble back.” He said by the third call she had said yes. They had two phone calls and then Britney met the producers and the manager called and said he thought it was going quite well, but not sure yet.

She said she was really nervous and you have all these people behind you that are rooting you on and it is an exciting and electric thing to do. Once she got out there they had a lot of fun.
Simon Cowell: Britney Is A Tough Judge
Britney said she uses constructive criticism and she learned from the best. She said she prefers to be honest and it is the best way to go. She doesn’t want people to waste seven years of their life on something that is not there. Ellen said don’t you think people will still go after it even if they do say no.
Simon Cowell: The Voice Feud
The X Factor is doing a two-night premiere on September 12 2012 and September 13 2012 and then The Voice added in a third night of their premiere to go head-to-head on September 12 2012 and Simon has been very vocal about it. Ellen said isn’t it a compliment because they are trying to compete with you. Simon said he would never do it and he thinks it is a compliment to a point, but when they start playing with the audience and start messing around and saying now you can’t watch both shows and it is a spoiling tactic.
He said The Voice got wind of how great their first episode is and Britney and Demi Lovato are amazing in it and they did this because they don’t want people to see them on the show. He said his gut feeling is it will backfire on them because you don’t mess with the audience.
