Ellen TV: American Ninja Warrior Parking Lot Challenge
Ellen DeGeneres started her show in the parking lot, standing next to her own version of an American Ninja Warrior obstacle course. Ellen said American Ninja Warrior was one of her favorite shows to watch over the summer, so she had them build the course in her own parking lot.
As Ellen said, while watching the show, it turns into an hour and a half of you saying “what! oh!” as they land an obstacle and then miss another one. Ellen joked that she watches the show and thinks “well, I can do that” but then gets up from the couch to get more chips and pulls a muscle and thinks “well, maybe not.”
Ellen said the obstacles look even scarier in person, but admitted they did modify the course a little bit so it’s not as difficult, but it is certainly still hard. Ellen then began her American Ninja Warrior Parking Lot Challenge.
Ellen: Matt Iseman & Akbar Biamila, American Ninja Warrior
Ellen welcomed Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbaja Biamila, the actual announcers on American Ninja Warrior. Both announcers say they have tried the course and Akbar said as a former NFL player he thought he could climb the wall, but failed five times. Matt Iseman said he was banned from trying because they were worried he was going to get hurt.
Ellen TV: Kacy Catanzaro & Bob Harper
Kacy said the wall was difficult and she trained really hard for it. She got to stage one of the finals and got to the “spider climb wall thing” before she failed. The clip showed her jumping off the trampoline and then trying to grip the sides of two walls with her feet and arms, before plummeting into the water below.
Bob Harper said he was nervous going against Kacy Catanzaro. He said he’s used to yelling at people to do the work while he stands there, and Ellen suggested he yell at himself.
Ellen: American Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course
Kacy was up first! I will point out that Kacy is a tiny woman, but that didn’t hold her back at all. She flew through the course making it look easy. She flew up the warp wall and hit the red button, clocking in at just 50 seconds.
Bob was up next. Bob was still climbing the net when the clock hit 50 seconds. He made it up the warp wall as well, but not quickly enough to beat Kacy. Both were impressive! They each got an American Ninja Warrior vacuum.
