Dr. Phil: Cheating & Abusive Husband?

Dr. Phil sat down today with a woman named Dorothy, who said her husband Bob has been cheating on her with women he meets online. Dorothy saw an episode of Dr. Phil that talked about protecting children online. She used the advice from the show and in the process, Dorothy found unclothed pictures of young women on her husband’s email, as well as a number of websites in the browser history on cheating and hooking up with women. She also claims she found two empty bottles of erectile dysfunction medication, which he wasn’t using with her.

Dorothy admits that she and her husband fight three or four times a week, often in front of their 12-year-old daughter Alice. Dorothy said they’ve both gotten physical with each other. She was once bruised for six weeks after Bob grabbed her by the throat and punched her arm several times.

Bob says that he never would cheat on his wife and that he never has. He claims the episode Dorothy watched was on how to catch cheating spouses, which was a weird discrepancy. Bob claims Dorothy has confused his spam email with his real email. He also said it was Dorothy’s idea for him to get the prescription for erectile dysfunction medication and that she went with him to the doctor. He said she’s convinced he’s been hiring escorts and using the medication with them.

Bob also says that despite his denials, Dorothy continues to argue with him and violently lash out, including clawing his face, fracturing his nose, breaking laptop computers, smashing the windows of his van and even threatening to cut off his genitals. The police have been called to their house seven times.

The husband initially wrote to Dr. Phil because Dorothy’s accusations and lack of trust came after watching a particular episode of Dr. Phil. Bob was quick to say he didn’t blame Dr. Phil necessarily for her actions, but that he thought she took a seed from the episode and let it grow into a monster.

Dorothy said that she trusted Bob for 22 years until about 9 months ago and that she didn’t think there was any reason for him to be hiding his medication from her. Bob claimed he put it in his sock drawer and Dorothy said it was under the mattress.

Dorothy claims Bob is gay because he was hiding the medication, he was inexperienced in the bedroom until he was married at 29, and that he also has escorts in the city because he once told her he preferred “New York girls.” She also called him a “$2 trick,” but she seemed shocked when Dr. Phil told her this meant she thought he was selling his services. She admitted she didn’t know what that term meant.

“This woman is the only woman I’ve been with my entire life, 100 percent. And basically she’s throwing knives at me,” he said.
