Dr Phil: Was Ed As Bad As Leah Said He Was?
Leah told Dr. Phil that Ed was stalking her, had threatened her and developed a gambling problem and these problems led her to leave and later shoot, Ed. Now, Ed steps in to tell his side of the story. Did Ed really slash her tires and even get a key to break into her apartment?
Ed Admits To Stalking and Gambling,
It took some pressing from Dr. Phil, but Ed eventually admitted to stalking Leah and secretly making a key to her apartment, entering at night when she didn’t know about it. With a little more pressure, Dr. Phil got Ed to take some ownership in the destruction of the marriage. Ed admits to being a gambler and a liar, corroborating the things Leah said about him yesterday. Ed fully believes that Leah’s reasons for getting a divorce were justified.
Mark’s Phone Calls Made Leah Shoot Ed
Dr. Phil then showed the video of Leah when she told Dr. Phil about the phone calls with her boyfriend Mark that took place moments before the shooting. One thing that Leah left out of her story, or that Ed added in (you decide), was that the first words Mark said when Leah got on the phone with him were, “You haven’t done it yet?” That was the moment where Ed thought he was going to die.
Ed Knew He Was Going To Get Shot
After being married for 20 years, it was obviously jarring for Ed to see his wife pointing a gun in his face. The tension of that day still hangs in the air. The couple has talked numerous times since Leah’s imprisonment, but they have never spoken about that day.
The first emotion Ed felt upon seeing the gun and hearing Mark utter that damning sentence was panic. He was racking his mind for things to say to get him out of the situation: “What’s the promise you can make? What’s the key word that’s going to not get you shot here?” Ed wondered. Even though the gun had been pointed at him for over 30 minutes, Ed never thought Leah was going to shoot him but instead was employing scare tactics. It was Mark’s call that got Ed nervous. “I knew I was going to get shot,” Ed said, who believes that it was Mark’s influence that led to the shooting.
