Dr. Phil: Drugged And Kidnapped And Forced To Work As An Escort
Dr. Phil talked to Dee, a mother who said when she was 17, she was drugged, kidnapped, and forced to work in a brothel for three months. After running away from a group home at 16, she met a man and a woman in a bar and they drugged her and took her away. She was terrified for her life, but she was finally able to escape. Now, she’s spent her entire adult life working to help other girls avoid the same fate. But she says her 20-year-old daughter Lacey is headed down a dark path and Dee worries she could end up in the same place in her life.
Dr. Phil: Out Of Control Daughter

Lacey lost her father at seven and a gunman forced himself on her at 13. Lacey left home at 15 to live with an abusive boyfriend who, among other things, sprayed her with mace, beat on her, slammed her head into a car, and forced himself on her. Lacey nearly died from alcohol poisoning three years ago and currently works as a dancer. Dee claims her daughter also has a marijuana and a prescription painkiller addiction.
Dee says her daughter is out of control. Dee’s at her wit’s end and doesn’t know what to do.
“My biggest fear is that my daughter is going to either O.D. on drugs or get taken like I was for human trafficking,” she said.
Dr. Phil: Is This Mother A Bad Parent?
Dr. Phil asked Dee how Lacey’s life got so out of control. Dee said it was all the wrong people in her life and all the trauma she’s experienced.
Lacey has also been pregnant twice, the first time at 16. Dee said she did everything she knew how to do to help Lacey. Dee said she’s done fine with her other children.
Dr. Phil wondered why she let Lacey move out at 15 to be with her 18-year-old boyfriend, who would later turn out to be abusive. Dee said that in their state, a teenager can move out when they’re 16 and she was afraid of Lacey running away forever if Dee didn’t let her and she would never see her again. She wanted to have her in her life. She said she wasn’t happy about it but she felt like Lacey was going to do what she wanted to do.
Dr. Phil: Mother Won’t Own Up To Her Mistakes
Dr. Phil was shocked she was defending her position here with a citation of the law and a statement of how strong-willed her child was. He reminded her that she shouldn’t be here to defend her position, she should admit her mistakes.
