Dr. Phil: Drug Intervention
Dr. Phil sent mother and son team Debbie and Brandon to launch an intervention for 22-year-old drug-addicted mother Taylor, who had an overdose last week. They showed the footage of the intervention where Taylor came into her house and was greeted by her family. Her family all told her how much they wanted her to get help. Taylor said she didn’t want to go on television to talk about this. But after her family continued to urge her, she ultimately agreed to come.

When Taylor came out, she said that she felt horrible. She said her body hurt and she couldn’t sit still. She said she was really cold. It was a withdrawal. She said she was doing a gram and a half a day of heroin and doing some meth as well.
Dr. Phil: Why Is She A Drug Addict?
Dr. Phil asked her why she was a a drug addict. She said that the drugs made her feel better and it hides her emotional pain. She said when she was growing up, her dad wasn’t really around and her mom was always focused on him. She said that when her family was all in the room for her intervention, she thought it was a family party she wasn’t invited to.
Taylor admitted she knew she was going to die if she continued down the path she was on. She also said she knew it needed to stop.
Dr. Phil: Will She Go To Rehab?
Dr. Phil said he’d been talking to her family instead of her because she wanted them to play hardball with her. He said that her family needed to support her. Dr. Phil asked Taylor if she would go to the dual-diagnosis center at Origins Recovery Center. Because it’s a dual-diagnosis treatment center, it helps with addiction as well as everything else that might be wrong with her, including the anger and resentment and feelings of abandonment. They’ll help her with whatever she’s feeling.
Taylor said that she was willing to do this. Taylor’s family also said that they were willing to help support her.
