Dr. Phil has a great episode August 5, 2014, with out of control teen Brianna sitting down with him to discuss her drug addiction and her lack of respect for authority. Brianna’s mom, Diane, is at her wit’s end and she’s terrified of losing her daughter to drug abuse. Can Dr. Phil heal this family and help Brianna get over her drug addiction?

Diane says that her 17-year-old daughter Brianna has run away at least five times and doesn’t respect authority. She’s also an out of control drug abuser. Diane recently sent Brianna to a youth shelter to scare her straight but it hasn’t worked at all.

Brianna says that she’s just living a party lifestyle. Brianna does Xanax, Molly, marijuana, PCP, heroin, and drinks alcohol. Is there something deeper to Brianna’s drug use? Will Brianna realize the dangers of her drug abuse and get the help she needs?

Dr. Phil: Her Father Abandoned Her

Diane claims that her ex-husband Michael abandoned Brianna after their divorce and that this contributed to the teen’s downward spiral. What does Michael have to say about these accusations? And how does Brianna feel about the abandonment? Does Diane take any ownership of this situation?

Dr. Phil’s website says that an “unexpected thing” will happen during this episode amid emotions running high.  I wonder what that thing is. In the preview, it looked like Dr. Phil will tell Michael off for abandoning his daughter and that Brianna will claim her mother enables her drug use by not being an efficient parent.
