Dr. Phil: Weatherman’s Real Life Hangover Experience
Two years ago, a weatherman’s real life hangover experience made headlines when he woke up with wine stains on his shirt and a painting by his bed. John went to Miami for his yearly vacation alone after the friend he usually went with backed out on him at the last minute, and it turned out having a wingman might have been a better idea.
John was having a drink alone at a bar when two women claiming to be Russian approached him. After convincing him to have drinks with them and take shots, John soon found himself getting into a cab with the women to go to what they said was a charity auction for the earthquakes that happened in Haiti, and he begrudgingly agreed.
Dr. Phil: John Blacks Out On A Night Out
Things were getting blurry by the time he got to the auction, and vaguely remembers signing several documents. After that, things went black, save for getting back to his hotel and the girls dancing in his room.
The next morning, John woke up with a nasty hangover, wine stains on his shirt, and a painting sitting next to his bed. A message on the hotel phone from the girls said that they hoped he liked the painting, and that they had accidentally kept his sunglasses and wanted to return them.
That night, John met with the women at the same pool bar he had initially met them at to get his sunglasses and take them to pick up the painting. The catch was that the girls and John had to go back to the place where they bought the painting, a so-called caviar bar, before they picked it up because one of them had “left their purse there.”
Dr Phil: Tricked And Robbed In Miami
Once again, John begrudgingly agreed to go with them. However, when he got there, despite only having a drink or two beforehand with the women, he was nearly blacked out once again. He was slapped awake by the two girls who were making sure he was okay, then woke up again the next morning in his hotel with the painting gone. Everything from that night was a blank.
To complement the agony of his second hangover in a row, John got a call from American Express, who said that there were an astounding $43,000 in charges made to his card. Every few minutes the night before, there had been $2,000 or $3,000 charges made to his car. Things were officially getting weird.
Dr. Phil: John Never Suspected The Girls
John said that he never suspected the girls were doing anything wrong because who would call the person they scammed the morning after they scammed him? After having two nights of blackouts, though, John was fairly certain he had been drugged. When they called him, his initial suspicions upon waking her assuaged. What went wrong?
