Dr Phil: Child Deaths Police Investigations
What happened to Darby and Kiera, two toddlers who died three months apart? Dr Phil has been reviewing the case, and both children died in the care of mother Julia and her new husband, Codey. Autopsy reviews concluded that the deaths were suspicious and further investigation was needed.
Dr Phil shared a statement from the police department in Kalispell, Montana, stating that the death of Darby Hodges remains unsolved and open. The Republic, Missouri, police issued a similar statement that the death of Kiera remains an active investigation.
Dr Phil: Vaccines Vs Physical Evidence

Dr Phil shared statements from police authorities in the jurisdictions where the deaths of Darby and Kiera occurred, and offered polygraphs to the parents.
Julia said that she does want to know what happened, though she is still unconvinced that vaccines did not kill her children. This elicited gasps from the audience as Julia started to become defensive.
Dr Phil pointed out that vaccines could not have caused the substantial physical evidence on both her children. “I don’t know what to say. All I want is answers,” Julia said woodenly.
He continued to press her on the answers provided thus far. “I just don’t like getting laughed at and being embarrassed,” Julia said. Dr Phil defended the audience, saying they are frustrated with this story.
Dr Phil: Accused of Murder for Years
Julia said she and Codey are frustrated after being accused of murder for four years. Dr Phil reminded everyone that Dr Wecht does not know anyone involved in the case, and has not accused anyone of anything.
Dr Phil asked Dr Wecht how much time would elapse between the incidence of a hemorrhage and Kiera’s death: days, weeks, or hours? Dr Wecht said that it would take minutes to several hours.
Tommy wondered where everyone in the house was a few hours before Kiera could not be woken up. They claimed they were in bed. “We’re telling you the truth,” Julia insisted.
Dr Phil: Will Julia & Codey Take a Polygraph?
Dr Phil wondered whether the police had given Julia and Codey the opportunity to take a polygraph test. Both of them said yes, the offer was extended, and they declined. “I wonder why,” Tommy’s mother Cheryl said.
According to Julia, the police were very hostile toward her and Codey. Dr Phil offered to let them both take an independent polygraph test. “It scares the crap out of me, but I have nothing to hide,” Julia said.
Codey refused a polygraph and the audience booed. Tommy and Cheryl helpfully volunteered to take any test.
