Dr Phil: Who Released The Tapes?
Dr Phil spoke with V. Stiviano, the woman behind the Donald Sterling scandal. She insisted that she did not have a romantic relationship with him, which he disputes. Dr Phil asked about how the tapes got out to the media, since Stiviano insists she did not release them.
“Do you know who did?” Dr Phil wondered. She said that she thinks it is a friend of hers, but she would not release the name, “for legal purposes.” She sent a copy of the recording to “a couple of my friends,” but she never intended for it to be made public. “I didn’t think they were going to sell it.”

Dr Phil asked about Sterling’s claims that he set him up and baited him on the recordings. In a clip from Sterling’s CNN interview with Anderson Cooper, he talked about how he would use the term “black” to describe people, and he assumed it was an attempt to make him jealous.
Stiviano said she never baited anyone, and that whatever he said was what he wanted to say. Dr Phil wondered if she thought her relationship with a married man was inappropriate. “His marriage is his marriage. I respect his marriage and I respect Mrs. Sterling. I never thought of it in that sense or in that way,” she said.
Dr Phil: V. Stiviano Pet Names
As for her pet names, she said that it’s not wrong to have affectionate nicknames for someone you are close to. Dr Phil showed another clip from the CNN interview with Sterling, in which he talked about how special, sweet, and nice she was to him, and his feeling that she betrayed him.
Dr Phil asked V. Stiviano how it made her feel to see that. “I’m hurt that he thinks I did this,” she said.
