Dr Phil: Royce White Mental Illness Awareness
Royce White has been reinstated to the Houston Rockets, and they came to a mental health agreement.
Royce White said he feels safe in the arena. Despite battling with anxiety and OCD his whole life, White finds calm on the basketball court.
White has been suspended from the Houston Rockets for most of the season as he struggles with anxiety and stress issues. They recently came to an agreement and White was reinstated to the team. He is playing for the Rio Grande Vipers. The goal was to get an NBA mental health clause to help other players struggling.
White said he is happy with the compromise. He was happy that both sides of the issue were able to come together and reach an agreement. He wanted to bring mental health to the forefront, because he is not the only one that struggles with OCD and anxiety.
White said anxiety is not a choice, and it’s more serious than many people think. The fans of the Rockets may not have understood but he wants them to, and that’s why he held out for a mental health clause.
Dr Phil: Caroline Overcomes Fear
When Caroline first came on Dr. Phil she was crippled with the fear that someone was going to come into her home and attack her. She showered with a stun gun and told Dr. Phil she felt like a prisoner in her own home. She felt vulnerable and was paralyzed by fear. She said her fears came from watching scary movies as a kid, but she’s never seen Psycho.
Dr. Phil caught up with Caroline, who has been receiving help from Dr. Frank Lawlis. She has since learned to breathe properly and proper relaxation techniques. She told Dr. Phil she has been cured and feels safe in her own home.
