Dr Phil: Can George Zimmerman Lead a Normal Life?
After setting off critics and protestors, it’s clear that George Zimmerman’s life was changed forever the day that he decided to follow Trayvon Martin. Roland Martin said that there are probably people out there that want to kill or injure George Zimmerman. He said he hopes that no one hurts him, but he should know that Trayvon Martin’s parents will never be able to live a normal life.
Eiglarsh disagrees. He defines a normal life as one where you can have a peace of mind when you walk down the street. Zimmerman will forever be looking over his shoulder because of the freedom he took from Trayvon Martin. Eiglarsh and Martin both agree that Trayvon Martin shouldn’t have died.
“Maybe the sentence for George Zimmerman is that he’s going to have to live this life because it’s a life that he created and it didn’t have to be this way,” Roland said.
Dr Phil pointed out that Casey Anthony and O.J. Simpson have both had their lives affected since their acquittals. Mark said that the system didn’t fail in Casey Anthony’s case. He said the jury had to find her guilty because the evidence was just not there. Roland Martin believes that the system did fail here because there were laws that let Zimmerman get through.
Dr Phil: Juror B-37 Statement About George Zimmerman
Juror B-37 made some comments about her support of George Zimmerman. She said that he had his heart in the right place and was a nice man.
A statement made by juror B-37 reads, “I think he [Zimmerman] was frustrated with the whole situation in the neighborhood and with the break-ins and the robberies and they actually arrested somebody not that long ago. I mean, I would feel comfortable having George [on neighborhood watch]. I think he has learned a good lesson.”
Dr Phil said the juror was asked if she felt sorry for what happened to Martin and what was happening to Zimmerman. She said she felt sorry for Zimmerman because of what he got himself into.
Eiglarsh said that he has had jurors wait for him after his client was acquitted to say that they shouldn’t have done the crime. He went on to say that some on the jury may feel that Zimmerman did something really wrong, but there was no evidence to back it up. He said that many of the Casey Anthony jurors cried because they had to find her not guilty.
Roland Martin said that the jury’s decision was bad and unjust and he does not agree with it.
