Dr Phil: Sara Kruzan Human Trafficking Victim Kills Pimp
At age 17, Sara Kruzan murdered the man that was selling her body on the streets. G.G. had been a strong father figure in Sara’s life, but used, abused, and lied to her since age 11. Sara’s aunt Anne blames her mother Nicole for Sara’s path and why she is in jail.
“Sara didn’t have her father in her life. She only saw him maybe three times,” Anne explained. “He was in and out of prison and on and off of drugs. Sara’s home life, to me, was erratic and chaotic, with different individuals, different men going in and out.”
Nicole has little sympathy for her daughter. She never believed Sara when her daughter told and other adults that she had been abused by men. Nicole even believes that Sara deserves her punishment in prison for killed G.G.
She knew her daughter was hanging around with gang members at age 11. After Sara has served 18 years of her 25 year sentence, Nicole believes her daughter is ready to be released.
Dr Phil: Domestic Abuse Leads Teen to Human Trafficking
Nicole admitted to abusing her daughter, but not to smashing Sara’s head into the floor. As if it makes it any better, Nicole said she pushed her head into the floor, on the carpet.
At eight years old, Sara told Anne that she had been assaulted when she was five. When Anne called Nicole, Nicole said she knew but didn’t think Sara was telling the truth. Nicole kicked the man out who was accused. Sara was abused several more times before age 12.
At age 12, Nicole asked a family friend to mentor Sara. He then abused Sara, but Nicole said that Sara had a thing for the man. As if that clears Nicole from any guilt. The audience was outraged at Nicole’s parenting.
Nicole’s favorite line was “I don’t know if he did or not.” She was clearly not plugged into her daughter’s life and was not watching her closely. She sort of believed that Sara had been abused by male gang members, but had doubts. Sara had gone to the hospital for a major cut on her leg, but didn’t tell the doctors she had been abused by the gang. She doubted that the events had taken place because Sara didn’t tell the doctors.
Dr Phil asked Nicole why she thought that Sarah would tell other adults because they had never believed her in the past. Good point, Dr Phil.
