Dr. Phil: Father Gets His Daughter Addicted To Drugs
On the outside, Tayler’s family life was picture perfect. She had fond memories of trips to California and four beautiful sisters that all seemed to share loving relationships with each other. However, when she started to have panic attacks at age six, it left people wondering what was wrong. Taylor’s mother, Deanna, had an array of tests run on her, all of which came back inconclusive and without any solid results. No one would have ever guessed that these were caused by abuse that her father was subjecting her to.
When a father gets his daughter addicted to drugs and touches her, the illusion of familial utopia is shattered. Taylor’s father, Russell, used to have her watch adult films with him, which later turned into touching. The first time he touched her, she was six. He slipped her some pills and, when she woke up, she was achy all over. The first time he slept with her, she was 16. The abuse escalated into drugs and other acts. Taylor had heroin for the first time when she was 10. Her father would actually take her to Mexico, where he used her as collateral for drugs with a Mexican cartel and forced to do unspeakable things.
Dr. Phil: Mother Had No Idea Abuse Was Going On
Deanna first got an idea that something might be wrong when her kids returned from a weekend visit with Russell, and they casually mentioned that Tayler slept next to her father. When Deanna asked if he touched her, Taylor said no. Taylor never said a word to anyone until she was 18, when she went to the police, and the story got run in the newspaper. Deanna first found out about the abuse when she read the lurid newspaper article, which made her physically ill.
Deanna says that there were no signs of what was going on. Looking back, Deanna says that the biggest indicator she may have missed before was when Taylor was experiencing panic attacks. Deanna was frightened, while Russell didn’t really react to it because he knew why she was having the panic attacks. Until now, she never thought her daughter wanting to spend so much time with her father was anything to worry about.
Dr. Phil: Taylor Used To Be A Great Student
Being 19 now and addicted to heroin, Taylor is nothing like she was in high school. She was popular, attended all of the school’s dances, and was part of every club. She was a star student and even participated in a beauty pageant. She has even been playing the guitar for the last eight years.
Taylor said that she never told anyone because her father made threats of killing her mother or himself if she ever told anyone. She had the chance to end it back when she was six and went to the emergency room for panic attacks because she had bruises on her private parts, but since the doctors wanted to see if her parents were abusing her, they never told either of the parents. It remained a dark secret for another 12 years.
