Dr Phil: Acquitted of Negligent Homicide
Previously on Dr Phil, Heather accused her ex-husband Brian of abuse. But he accused her of being culpable in the death of their 15-year-old son Brandon, who overdosed on alcohol and prescription pills while at her home. Heather was acquitted of manslaughter and negligent homicide in court, but she complained that Brian won’t stop harassing her. Her friend Bernice said that Heather has an addiction and needs help. Brian just wants her to admit that she contributed to the tragic situation so everyone can move forward.
In part two of this two-day Dr Phil story, Brandon’s friends were on the show to share their own experiences and memories of the night that Brandon passed away, as well as Heather’s previous behavior. I wonder how she will take this string of developments.
Dr Phil: Buying Drugs and Alcohol for Teens?

Though mom Heather was acquitted of negligent homicide and manslaughter in the death of her teenage son, his friends shared their concerns with Dr Phil.
Dr Phil said that one of the allegations against Heather is that she bought her son the alcohol that he consumed. Though she denied this, Dr Phil had some of his friends who were there that night in the audience.
Brandon’s friend Chris said that his behavior changed when he began living with Heather, and that she was aware of her son’s partying, even buying the teens alcohol. Friend A.J. said that she also bought alcohol for him. Marc said that she would host hotel parties for them and even purchased marijuana.
Dr Phil: Crushed Morphine Tablets
Travis, who was there the night before Brandon’s death, explained that Brandon crushed some of Heather’s Morphine tablets and snorted them in front of him. Eventually, Travis decided to go home and asked Heather for a ride.
He said that she had to walk by the alcohol and pills in the kitchen, but she didn’t say anything. When she and Brandon dropped Travis off, he said Brandon was singing in the back seat. When Heather and Brandon got home, Chris asked whether Brandon should go to the hospital.
She said no, and he went to sleep. The next morning, he walked into the garage and found his friend had died in the back seat of the car. The friends think that she was responsible for contributing to his death, and they wish he had taken her to the hospital that night.
Dr Phil: No Surveillance At Liquor Store
Dr Phil talked to Chris about witnessing Heather buying alcohol for Brandon and others. He said that he was 15 years old when Brandon died, and he recalled being interviewed by the police. He said that Heather had bought alcohol with Brandon days before the death.
Heather denied that this ever took place, and said that there was no video evidence of her from the store’s surveillance videos. She said that Brandon would not have even been allowed in the liquor store.
Dr Phil: Is Heather Lying About What She Knew?
Chris also said he showed Heather the crushed prescription pills that Brandon had taken from her purse, after she dropped Travis off. That is when he said he suggested taking Brandon to the hospital.
Chris checked on Travis twice during the night, but Heather went to bed and did not wake up the rest of the night. Heather ludicrously claimed that she did not think her son was drunk when he slept in the back seat of the car.
Travis said that Brandon was very drunk, too drunk to drive him home, a fact he told Heather when he was asking for a ride home. Heather denied that Travis ever told her this.
