Dr. Phil: Tiffany And Robert’s Daughter Was Lying About Abuse
Jennifer and Robert are tired of their daughter Tiffany’s lying. The lying is not just about anything, though. Tiffany is lying about abuse, and even told the police, a social worker, her school principal, and her friends that she has been abused at least five times.
Tiffany claims her parents put her in a dog kennel, that her father bit her, that her mother threw an iron at her and threw her down a flight of stairs, and that her parents took her into the basement and beat her with baseball bats.
Tiffany got bruises on her legs from cheer leading that she took pictures of and showed to her principal, claiming abuse. Lies like this snowballed out of control, and have turned their entire community against them. After she told the lies, she even moved out of her home for eight months and lived with another family.
Tiffany’s parents felt that she enjoyed the power she felt when she was lying about abuse and that she enjoyed the attention. If her parents could talk to her candidly, they would cast shame on her for ripping their family apart with her malicious lies.
Dr. Phil: Why Was Tiffany Lying About Abuse?
Tiffany said that she told the lies about her parents because, at age 14, he relationship with her mother was very tense, and they were fighting a lot. She wanted to get back at her mother, so she channeled her anger by falsely accusing her parents of abuse. She openly admitted that everything she said about the abuse is false. Ultimately, she wanted to hurt and punish her parents.
Tiffany said she got the “locked in a dog kennel” idea when she heard that it had actually happened to someone else. As for the pictures of her bruises, Tiffany said she sent them to a friend, not thinking she would report it.
Tiffany chalked all of the lies she told and the troubles she caused to good old fashioned teenage angst. She was fighting with her mother all the time, and saw these lies as an opportunity to get out of the situation.
