Dr Phil: Living Vicariously Through Your Kids
Steve thinks that Jessica is living through their daughter Cailey. Jessica wanted to be an actress, movie star and model growing up. Jessica said that her daughter loves acting and it’s not living vicariously at all. Cailey wants to do it.
Steve also worries that his daughter is getting too confident. He is scared of how his six-year-old dresses and Dr Phil said it creeps him out. She’s not as bad as Toddlers & Tiaras, but it’s getting there.
Dr Phil’s associate producer Eric was once duped by the child star scammers. He gave them $200 for acting classes and was supposed to bring them about $1,800. When he got there with the rest of the money, the place was empty. He said it was one of those radio ads for child actors, but he was almost scammed.

Lindsay Stewart and Susie Mains told Jessica that her daughter shows potential, but it’s a hard market to break into.
Dr Phil: Advice For Child Stars
Lindsay Stewart and Susie Mains, both top talent agents, came to give Jessica and Steve advice. They agreed to meet with Cailey after the show, but had constructive criticism about her audition video.
Susie said that Cailey is far too made up. She’s got a lot of confidence, but she needs to look like a kid. Cailey is too promiscuous in her poses and needs to just look fresh and energetic. If a kid came in with that much makeup, Susie said she wouldn’t look at her ever again.
Lindsay said that only 10 out of 1,000 kids at the convention will get picked up. She said she gets over 150 a week and will only look at two to three kids. She suggested sending in the pictures to the SAG agencies in their area. Steve and Jessica shouldn’t be spending any money with agencies unless the kids are getting placed in jobs. Lindsay told them to stop their monthly fees immediately.
