Dr. Phil: Parenting Missteps
While Levi and Bob’s inconsistent parenting continues to allow their out-of-control daughter Tiffani run wild, they still, for whatever reason, continue to defend their parenting. Dr. Phil grew tired of hearing this, and began listing some of Levi and Bob’s most egregious parenting missteps, according to their daughter.
Tiffani claims that Bob told her he was just surprised she was not pregnant, which he seemed unable to confirm or deny, which sounds like a resounding yes to me. Then, Dr. Phil asked if it was true that he called Tiffani a worthless piece of (expletive we can’t say here at Recapo), which he vehemently denied. Bob also admitted to calling Tiffani a dumb (insert biblical synonym for a donkey or a modern slang term for a hind end), so it looks like he hasn’t exactly had the kindest of words for his daughter.
Dr. Phil: Spoiling A Bad Child
If you thought Bob’s words weren’t all that smart, wait until you hear what he did for Tiffani. He reportedly bought her a flat screen TV, custom painted her room, and got her a boom box and a cell phone, all against the wishes of Levi, the tough mother, when Tiffani was 12. Here is another example of Levi and Bob’s inconsistent parenting.
Dr. Phil: Not Punishing A Child Enough
Parenting missteps like the ones Levi and Bob made cause manipulative children.
In terms of Bob and Levi as a team, that isn’t too great, either. When Tiffani got into a fight at school, there was a lecture, but no true consequence. When Tiffani was caught smoking, there was no punishment issued at all. When Levi and Bob stripped Tiffani’s room, they decided to leave the TV, which you would think would be the first thing gone.
Bob says that he used to feel bad for punishing Tiffani, and would often times “make up” for doing it the next day by showering her in affection of getting her a gift. This has led to a relationship that is so casual and lacking of respect that Tiffani calls Bob by his first name, Robert.
Dr. Phil: Manipulative Children
Before the segment ended, Dr. Phil asked Levi if she had called Tiffani a fat pig and a (female dog), which she both denied and said were words that Tiffani put into her mouth when she refused to take her out to eat. Levi told Tiffani that there was food in the house, and she lashed out, accusing her mother of calling her fat.
Bob told Dr. Phil that Tiffani is a very manipulative child, and that she has manipulated judges, parole officers, and many other people into being on her side.
