Dr Phil: Did Brian Abuse Brandon?

Heather is tired of Brian blaming her for killing their teenage son in 2008, a crime for which she was acquitted. Dr Phil got Brian to admit that he hit their son, Brandon, in the face, which counts as physical abuse. How much did Brandon have to drink on the night of his death?

Heather claimed that Brandon often had black eyes. Dr Phil told her to be quiet, and he tried to get some common ground with Brian. Dr Phil asked whether Brian was the custodial parent on the night of Brandon’s death, which seems like it had already been established.

Brian said that their son was with Heather, so whatever happened was her fault. This set off another round of bickering. Dr Phil tried to pin Brian down, but Brian continued to ramble and attempt to make himself look good.

Dr Phil gave up and turned to Heather with some questions about the night in question. She said she never bought alcohol for her son or his friends, which seems unbelievable. Dr Phil said that, based on Heather’s own version of events, and statements from other witnesses that night, Brandon consumed about 22 beers, four to five vodka shots, three Morphine tablets, and four snorted rails of Morphine.

Heather said that she does not know what went on that night, but she did see him with a shot of vodka in his hand. She said she poured it down the sink, and does not know where the alcohol came from. Heather said that it’s strange people claim she bought this alcohol, because she does not even drink.

Dr Phil could not get Heather to admit that her son was drinking on the night of his death. She started stammering and grasping at straws. Finally, Dr Phil got a yes-or-no answer: yes, she assumed he was drinking.

Dr Phil: Is Heather On Medication?

Heather also admitted that she was on medication, and he pointed out that she was slurring her words. She attributed this to a brain injury, and he gave her the chance to explain her circumstances. Heather said she does not have a good memory of her 1999 car accident or Brandon’s death.

She had a vague memory of her parents arriving after Brandon died. She also claimed that Brian punched the cops. Dr Phil wondered why she let her son drink in her home. She said she poured the vodka out and took her son’s friend Travis home.

Dr Phil and Heather continued to go head to head, as she continued to answer and battle against questions that were not asked. “This is my life here,” Heather said, accusing Brian of going after her in the media for years. How do these people find one another?
