Dr Phil: How Did Darby & Kiera Die?
Tommy and his mother Cheryl told Dr Phil they believe that his ex, Julia, and her boyfriend Codey killed his son Darby and her daughter Kiera. They came on the show to say they want everyone to know that this couple is dangerous. But Julia and Codey say they have been bullied online.
The two children died three months apart in separate states. Julia and Cody said they have never done anything to hurt their children, and they denied everything. For the first time since this story began to make headlines in 2010, the couple spoke out when they agreed to participate in Dr Phil’s show.
Dr Phil: Did Darby Die From SIDS?
Dr Phil guests Julia and Cody lost two young children in three months. Julia’s ex, Tommy, claims that the couple had something to do with both deaths.
Julia said she got pregnant with Darby just a few months into her relationship with Tommy. Tommy was away at basic training, and she struggled as a single mother of two. She said that an explosive fight, in which Tommy kicked their dog, is what ended their relationship.
That’s when Julia returned to her hometown of Montana, and she quickly met another man, Codey. Codey said that he discovered Darby’s body on the day that he died. He was discolored, and Codey performed CPR on the young boy.
At the hospital, Julia said she was devastated to learn that Darby passed away from SIDS, according to medical personnel. As for Kiera, a few months later when the couple had relocated to Missouri, the four-year-old just did not wake up one day. Once again, Codey found the child’s body.
“There’s no way lightning strikes twice,” Codey said of this deja vu situation. Julia said she was in disbelief and denial that she lost both of her children.
Dr Phil: Cody and Julia Bullied Online
But soon, Codey and Julia’s grief was disrupted when they became suspects. They blame Tommy and Cheryl for instigating the inquiries into the children’s deaths. The couple said on Dr Phil that the detectives were very accusatory. Both of them denied abusing the children, and of course killing them.
“They had little nicks and bumps and mosquito bites normal children have,” Julia said passionately. Codey said he does not have a history of violence, and neither of them have ever been charged.
The couple has been “bullied and harassed” by Tommy and Cheryl on Facebook, which no one seems to deny. But they insist that if there was any evidence against them, they would be in jail and not on TV.

Codey and Julia came onto Dr Phil’s stage, and it was the first time that Codey had ever met Tommy. Julia said that she wanted to clear her name and shake the accusations of child abuse.
Dr Phil wondered whether Julia would want to know whether Codey had anything to do with abuse of the children. “You don’t know for sure,” Dr Phil pointed out. She insisted that she was there and got information from the doctors, which is how she knows what she knows.

I believe Cody did it and Julia is covering up for him
I believe that both of them are definitely guilty as well. It is very probable that Cody did it and Julia is covering it up. I feel so sorry for the children who were murdered as well as having been born into a family where their mother did not protect them at all. I also feel sorry for the other victims-the father(s) and relatives who loved these children. On some level, these two people know what they did was horrific and they have to live with this for the rest of their lives (knowing that they caused these deaths). I hope that somehow they can be tried for these crimes. It will not bring the children back, but provide some justice to the remaining family members.
