Dr. Phil: Jordan First Drank At Age 12
Throughout the numerous rehab visits the emotionally underdeveloped Jordan went through thanks to her enabling father, the family found out from one of the counselors that Jordan would sneak down to the basement at drink alcohol at age 12. When the question was asked if Jordan was ever abused, she never answered the question, but cried instead. With Jordan’s family helping her only to make themselves feel better, will she ever be held accountable to get clean?
Dr. Phil: Was Jordan Abused?
With Jordan having never answered the question about the abuse, the family has no way of knowing whether or not Jordan was ever abused or if she ever went through some sort of highly traumatic event that had her turning to substances at such a young age. Dr. Phil thought that getting to the bottom of this problem would be the best way to maneuver through the addiction and help Jordan free herself of it. However, Jordan needs to be detoxed before she can be helped.

Jordan has brain damage, which makes getting to sobriety even more difficult. Since this addiction may be rooted in emotional issues, he did not think that throwing Jordan in for round six of rehab was a viable option either. However, Dr. Phil suggested a multi-dimensional evaluation strategy for Jordan, where Jordan would be treated for several ailments at once.
Dr. Phil said that the family needed to fly Jordan to Dallas, Texas to a place called the Psychoneuroplasticity Center. This place will give Jordan a team of doctors in a variety of professions, and not just one. Dr. Phil didn’t much care where the parents’ relationship was at or whether or not they got along, but it was abundantly clear that they didn’t parent Jordan correctly the first time around, and this was their chance to fix that.
Roger gave Dr. Phil his word that he would finally take the reins and send Jordan to the clinic, setting in motion Jordan’s road to recovery.
