Dr Oz: Show Inspired Woman To Lose 200 Pounds
Dr Oz loves sharing the stories of people who make transformations that change their lives. He wanted to share one story in particular. A woman explained that her problems with weight began after her first child was born. Her baby had a rare digestive disorder and so she stayed with him around the clock in the hospital. She turned to food to cope and ate herself up to almost 400 pounds, which took a horrible toll on her health. She had high blood pressure and was on the verge of diabetes. Her doctor warned her that if she did not make changes soon, she could die.

Since her son was so sick, she became a stay-at-home mom, and started to watch The Dr Oz Show. On one of his shows, Dr Oz asked his viewers to lose just 10 pounds. She said Dr Oz inspired her to get rid of the soda, sugar, and processed foods. It’s been three years and she’s lost over 200 pounds. She’s now paying it forward with a Facebook page titled “We Have Got This” to inspire other people to lose weight and eat healthy. On the page she shares everything she learned from Dr Oz, including that weight loss starts by taking just one simple step.
Dr Oz: Dramatic Weight Loss After Cutting Out Soda
Her name is Kelly and she shared with Dr Oz’s viewers that they just have to take it one step at a time. She said small steps are the most important and crucial part to any lifestyle change. She said you can’t think of it as the pounds you need to lose, but if you take it 10 pounds at a time over a a period of a few years, you’ll eventually achieve your goal. Slow and steady wins the race!
The first thing Kelly did to reach her dream weight was cut out soda, particularly diet soda. She said soda was her go-to addiction and she was drinking at least six cans a day. Her doctor was getting ready to put her on insulin and told her that if she cut out soda she would automatically lose weight without changing anything else. That first week she lost ten pounds just by cutting out soda. She said diet soda is a drink that will actually make you overeat.
Dr Oz: Small Changes, Big Results
Kelly also cut out fast food and incorporated more greens and fresh foods in her diet. She eats breakfast to get her metabolism going, and her breakfast includes hot, unsweetened green tea. She also eats a high fiber food like an apple and then a protein like an egg or ricotta cheese.
For lunch she’ll eat a salad with protein and then for dinner she’ll have a feast of vegetables and protein. She said she doesn’t think you need to starve when you diet. She said she tells people to eat until you’re satisfied, but never let yourself starve.
Dr Oz then showed what Kelly was eating, which was shocking to see. Kelly said when she looks in the mirror she is sometimes startled because she’s used to seeing a much bigger girl. She now celebrates herself and gave herself permission to love herself enough to be good to herself.
