Dr Oz: Family Food Game
Dr. Oz was geared up to play another round of Family Food during his May 14 2013 episode. The two teams competing against each other were the Mayer family and the Fierman family.
The object of Family Food is to guess the top four foods in the heart healthy category. Each team has three strikes before the questions move to the other team and Dr. Oz even gave them some help by giving them the choices they could choose from on the board.

Dr. Oz played a round of Family Food with two families as they battled trying to come up with the four most potassium rich and omega-3 fatty acid rich foods.
The first category was potassium because it is a healthy food that can lower blood pressure and regulate the fluid in cells. Below are the top four answers from the game:
- Baked potato – 925 mg a quarter of what you need each day
- White beans – 500 mg per half cup
- Bananas
- Pumpkin seeds – 240 mg
The second category was omega-3 fatty acids, another heart healthy type of food that lowers blood pressure. Below are the top four answers from the game:
- Flax seed
- Oysters
- Anchovies
- Pecans
Since both of the teams won a category Dr. Oz had a final tie breaker question. See if you can get the right answer.
What is the fastest the human heart can beat? – 220 beats per minute.
