Dr Oz: Bride Boot Camp
Dr Oz knows that preparing for a wedding can be incredibly stressful, and it’s even harder when you don’t feel comfortable with your body and want to lose a few pounds. He shared a group of brides who are getting married this season and want to be swimsuit ready before their big day. Lauren and Faye were ready to get married, but wanted to slim down first.
Dr Oz then revealed his four week plan to help them slim down and get healthier before they tie the knot. First, Faye and her bridesmaid shared that they planned on starting every morning with a coffee cleanse smoothie. Faye drinks a lot of coffee rather than eating breakfast. Dr Oz: Coffee-Cleanse Smoothie Recipe Ingredients
- 1 C coffee
- 1 C almond milk
- cinnamon – to taste
- 1 banana
- 1 tbsp date sugar
- vanilla extract – to taste

- Combine all ingredients into a blender
- Blend until smooth
Dr Oz: Cut Your Carbs In Half
Lauren’s made of honor suggested that you cut your carbs in half at each meal. Lauren said it would be pretty difficult because she could go out to eat and consume the bread basket all by herself. One example of what you can do to cut down on your carbs include scooping out the inside of your bagel and only eating the outer crust.
Dr Oz: Tip To Stay Motivated
Dr Oz then welcomed Zendetta, who lost 20 pounds before she got married 12 years ago. She knew she wanted to look and feel fabulous on her wedding day. She suggested that the brides take a picture of themselves in a bathing suit and mark the areas of themselves that the want to improve on. Whenever you reach for something in the fridge, you are faced with that picture.
One girl gave herself check marks on her chest and rear end, while circling her thighs and stomach.
Dr Oz: Tone Your Arms & Shoulders
Mark Jordan, a world record holder for pull ups done in a single day, shared that pull-ups are a great way to tone and strengthen the arms. They are also a great way to relieve stress. If you don’t have a pull-up bar, you can instead use a rhomboid pull exercise. Stand up and lift our elbows out to the side with your arms out in front. Pull your shoulders back as if you’re squeezing something between your shoulder blades.
