Dr Oz: Wendy Williams
Dr Oz welcomed the beautiful “diva of daytime TV” Wendy Williams. She walked out in a stunning grey dress looking absolutely fantastic. The last time she was on the show, she had just turned 50, but Wendy said since then, she has learned that 51 is better than 50. She said she currently weighs 145 pounds at 5’11”. She lost 50 pounds which is absolutely amazing.
Wendy explained that she lost the weight slow and steady, and stopped getting on the scale. Recently, she, her husband, and her son, went vegan with an alkaline twist. She said she’d been suffering from bad lower leg psoriasis and it started to creep up past her knee so she knew she had to do something. Her husband and son both have eczema, so they figured why not try going vegan. She said the diet has helped her in more ways than she ever imagined, and she now recovers much faster than before.

Dr Oz then shared he was going to do a segment called “How You Chewin'” and give audience members the chance to ask Wendy a question. The first woman asked how Wendy manages to avoid falling off the bandwagon and indulging in junk food. Wendy shared that she actually makes her own junk food at home, including potato chips. Before that, she wouldn’t deny herself anything and always promised that tomorrow would be a better day.
They then talked to a woman who wanted to know if it was harder to keep the weight off and eat healthy after 50. Wendy said it was actually easy because she’s aware that her metabolism slowed down. As for whether someone should try a celebrity fad diet, Wendy said don’t believe the hype and do what works for you.

Dr Oz then explained to Wendy that backstage was one of Wendy’s biggest fans. She thought she was helping Dr Oz with a cooking segment, not knowing she was about to meet her favorite celebrity. As Wendy waited backstage, Dr Oz joined Sydney on stage. Sydney explained that she tried all kinds of celebrity diets and knew she needed to try something different. She said Wendy Williams helped to change her life and she even used one of her recipes to start eating healthier.
Dr Oz: Plantain Chips
As Sydney began trying to explain a recipe, Wendy walked out, surprising Sydney. Wendy thanked her again, saying she inspired her so much. While she was out there, Wendy explained that plantain chips are big in her house. They use grapeseed oil and coat the bottom of a baking sheet with it, before placing thinly sliced plantains over top. You can season them however you like, but Wendy likes to use sea salt and onion powder. Just put them in the oven on 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Wendy even likes to make her own ketchup to dip the chips in. Click through to find the recipe for delicious homemade ketchup!
