Dr Oz: Annette’s Summer Sleep Cooley Recipe
Summer lovin’, had me a blast. That is, until the temperature rose so fast. Dr Oz talked about healthy summer recipes that will help you get to sleep and they all contain natural ingredients and things that aid in sleep. So far, we’ve seen a no-drip popsicle with gelatin and fruits that contain magnesium. Also, a viewer created an inventive summer meatloaf that cuts calories, keeps the flavor and has impressive ingredients, like gelatin.
Again, gelatin contains glycine, a naturally occurring nutrient that helps regulate your brain to decrease your body temperature. This next recipe also uses tart cherry juice, which naturally contains melatonin and can help you fall asleep.
Here’s what you’ll need for Annette’s Summer Sleep Cooley:
- 1 1/2 cups tart cherry juice
- 3 packets of gelatin
- 3/4 cup blueberries
- ice (optional)
Here’s what you’ll do to make this summery drink or jello dessert:
Put everything, save the ice, in a blender. Whip it up and serve. You can add ice for a colder drink if you’d like. Annette even let it set up so it was like a jello.
She also took fruits and blended them up with extra gelatin and water, then pour them in a silicone ice tray mold. When she popped them out, she placed the on top of the gelatin cooley. Dr Oz said this was his favorite of the three dishes and was reminded of simpler times, when jello was the top of the dessert food chain.
Here are the other two recipes, both containing gelatin and healthy ingredients:
