Dr Oz: Could This Machine Melt Your Fat?
Do you wish you could melt away your fat? Dr Oz said there is a new machine that claims it can do just that, without any surgery. Many people probably want to tone up, and Dr Oz had experts demonstrate this technology on his stage.
Dr Oz: Vanquish Review
Patient Maria volunteered to test this out on the show. Dr Howard Sobel, a dermatologic surgeon at Lenox Hill Hospital, was the expert who shared patient before-and-after photos with Dr Oz to demonstrate the results some people have seen.
This Vanquish treatment does not even touch the skin. “It’s a radio frequency device that basically heats up the fat cell and destroys the fat cell permanently. And it contours the fat cell as well,” Dr Sobel said.

If you want to have a sleeker abdomen or get rid of the muffin top or love handles, Dr Oz’s guest suggested this is a way to do it. Fat cells don’t multiply, so he said this solution could be permanent in a particular problem area.
“Other machines may work, but they don’t have the contouring device that this has,” Dr Sobel said. Dr Oz thought initially that this was too good to be true, and Dr Sobel agreed.
He said that there is always marketing buzz surrounding new treatments. The difference in this case seems to surround the contouring, which changes the silhouette. The women in his office tried this and loved it.
Dr Oz: Vanquish Heats Fat Cells
Patient Maria was actually having her fourth session on Dr Oz’s stage. A pad on the device prevents your skin from being burned during any of the treatments. Dr Sobel said some other lasers touch the skin, which could result in burns.
Vanquish shoots a laser through the dermis to heat fat cells to 180 F. Dr Sobel said that this is FDA-approved for deep tissue heating. Maria said it felt like a warm compress, and she reported no side effects from prior treatments.
If you have an inch or two to lose, Dr Sobel said this could work for you. It is not for patients who still have a lot of weight to lose. Maria said she had already lost three inches.
Dr Oz: How Much Does Vanquish Cost?
Dr Sobel said patients would likely need four weekly 30-minute sessions, at a cost of several hundred dollars per session, which varies depending on where you live. Dr Oz noted that would be cheaper than Liposuction.
Dr Oz: Vanquish Weight Loss Results
Ask your dermatologist about the Vanquish treatment. Audience members Amy and Gina went through the process and shared their results. Amy lost three inches in three session, and she said her pants are fitting better.
Gina lost four inches after four sessions, and lost 10 pounds through diet and exercise during her month of treatments. The ladies said it’s worth it if you can afford it, and it doesn’t take much time at all.
