Dr Oz: Protein Bar Shopping Guide
He sent his medical team shopping to find as many varieties of protein bars as they could. There were plenty out there on the market to choose from, so they had to come up with some criteria to help pare down the list. Taste was also an important factor, because if they don’t taste good, no one will want to eat them.
A lucky woman from the audience got to participate and taste test each of the protein bars Dr Oz recommended based on his research. Here’s what he and his team were looking for.
- 10 grams Protein
- >4 grams Saturated Fat
- >15 grams Sugar
- >350 calories
- No Trans Fats
According to Oz, half the bars they found and studied had to be thrown out because they did not meet the nutritional standards he was looking for with this project.
Dr Oz: Best Protein Bars for Weight Loss
When it comes to weight loss, there were two products that Dr Oz thought really lived up to his expectations. One key factor was fiber, and he chose bars that had at least 9 grams of Fiber in this category.

- Fiber One Meal Bar Chocolate Peanut Butter – 9 grams of Fiber
