Dr Oz: Miracle Survival Story
While discussing near-death experiences and the intersection between science and religion, Dr Oz shared the incredible story of a woman named Valerie. When Dr Oz saw the images of Valerie’s car after it was crushed by two semi trucks, he knew he just had to meet the woman who somehow survived the accident. Dr Oz explained that first responders were working against the clock to free Valerie and get her to the hospital, and it’s what happened next that has doctors baffled.
Dr Oz: Woman’s Near-Death Experience
Valerie was traveling with her daughter on a snow day on a stretch of an Arizona highway with her daughter in 2000. She was in her SUV with her daughter, waiting out the storm when two semi trucks slammed into them. The impact hurled her daughter from the vehicle and trapped Valerie under another truck.
When people see the wreckage, they have no idea why Valerie wasn’t killed instantly. It took rescuers two-and-a-half hours to get Valerie out and once they did, she was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support. Doctors said if Valerie survived at all, she “wouldn’t be more than a vegetable.” While Valerie was in the ICU, she claims she was out of her body and her pain had stopped. “It was clear to me, that I had crossed over,” Valerie stated.
Dr Oz: Sister’s Dream Predicts Car Accident
When Valerie joined Dr Oz, she recalled being trapped in the truck and going in and out of consciousness. When she would go out of consciousness, she would find herself sitting in a “transition room” but she was in a place of peace with no pain. She recalled the room being very beautiful.
Dr Oz then turned to Valerie’s sister, who two months before the accident, actually had a dream. Sheryl dreamt that she was in her car, driving on a road when she came upon an accident that involved three semi trucks. She remembered that in the dream, she felt a heavy burden, so she kept praying for family and friends for protection. As she prayed, the burden would lift, but then it would come back, up until the accident. She kept praying, not knowing exactly what she was praying for, but that she just needed to pray.
Dr Oz: Woman Survives Horrific Car Accident
When Sheryl was at the hospital with her sister who was on life support, doctors told Sheryl that she probably wouldn’t make it and if she did, she would be a vegetable. They also told her that she would probably be in the hospital for about a year.
Dr Oz then looked at Valerie’s medical records from March of 2000. He explained that Valerie’s lungs collapsed because of an air leak, she had a ruptured diaphragm, and a large left-middle cerebral stroke on the left side of her brain. Each of those were catastrophic injuries, so it’s no surprise that anyone could read that chart and assume that Valerie didn’t make it. Dr Oz even said “you should not be alive.”
Dr Oz: What Brought Woman Back From The Dead?
Valerie admitted that once she crossed over, she actually didn’t want to come back. She claims she saw herself through Jesus’ eyes, in a loving way unlike ever before because of issues with self-hatred. All she saw that Jesus loved her, which she couldn’t believe. She claims she went through a whole healing process. So why did she come back? Valerie was told, by Jesus, to tell everyone that they are loved.
Even doctors can’t explain her recovery. Valerie’s doctor wrote Dr Oz a hand-written message that said perhaps her recovery was the result of powerful positive thinking and the Lord’s grace. Incredibly, Valerie walked out of the hospital after two-and-half months. DeVon was proud to state that Valerie’s survival was a miracle and loves the message she now has to share.
