Dr Oz: Kendra Wilkinson, Hank Baskett Cheating Scandal
As Dr. Oz said, no woman wants to hear their husband has cheated, but for Kendra Wilkinson, that became a reality. Reality TV star Kendra Wilkinson and her husband, NFL wide receiver Hank Baskett, seemed to have the perfect marriage. They had a beautiful child, with another one on the way, when Kendra’s world cam crashing down. Just five weeks after giving birth to her daughter, Kendra found out that Hank was accused of cheating on her with a transsexual.
The affair allegedly took place when Kendra was eight months pregnant and the scandal sent the media into a tailspin. All along, Hank claimed that he didn’t do it but Kendra reportedly split from him and is now taking care of a newborn and dealing with depression. She’s hoping to get her life and her health back in order. Kendra told Dr. Oz that faith has kept her going.
Dr. Oz asked Kendra was eating, and she said she’s actually doing really good and focusing on her health. Initially, she didn’t sleep. Dr. Oz then shared a quote from Kendra herself that said, “If you want a real look at what a real marriage looks like, this is it.”
Dr Oz: Kendra Wilkinson Focusing On Health
Kendra explained that she wants people to see she’s not a perfect person and although she’s a celebrity, she still goes through hard times. She said all you see is divorce, but she wants to show people what it takes to get over something like what she’s going through, because she truly wants to. She said she loves her husband and it’s all real.
Kendra then explained that although she struggled with postpartum depression after her first pregnancy, after the second pregnancy, she bounced back quickly, noting that she followed a low-carb diet. Kendra said she’s known to be “the cute girl from the Playboy mansion” and when she got pregnant, real life set in. She knew that her old body and her old persona had changed. She admitted that it was a lot of pressure to stay hot for her husband, and also admitted that she got too comfortable.
Kendra then explained that Hank has been around, but they have an apartment “just in case.” Kendra then explained that Hank is denying having cheated on her, and no more information came out. She said as time went on, she started to realize who she really married, and wondered if Hank could have been set up. Dr. Oz then offered Kendra some advice and said, “Woman always find a way of blaming themselves in a situation.” He said it’s always been his opinion that when a man cheats, if he did cheat, it reflects on their own insecurity, because they don’t think they’re worthy of their partner, but then it destroys their blissful life.
Dr Oz: Kendra Wilkinson On Dealing With Rumors
Dr. Oz then said it will come down to whether she’s willing to forgive Hank. Kendra said she doesn’t know what to believe anymore, saying, “Who am I to believe a stranger, this home-wrecker?” Kendra also said that she has done a lot of her own research so she knows that a lot of those claims are false. She said, “We’re so quick to believe rumors. Please think about what you’re believing.”
Kendra said it’s only been a couple months so she still has a lot more to do. She also explained that after everything happened, Hank went to New Mexico, which made her believe that he was guilty and was walking away, like what her dad did to her. She said she made quick, crazy decisions, including going out with her friends, only to realize she didn’t want to give up on her husband because she wants to be with him. “He’s an amazing person that’s being painted like a monster,” Kendra said.
Dr. Oz then pointed out that Kendra wasn’t wearing her ring, and asked what it would take to get her to put it back on. Kendra said, “A lot of work.” She shared that Hank is in therapy and is trying to get to a place where he can figure himself out and know what he truly wants in his life. Dr. Oz said while Hank figures himself out, Kendra has to take care of herself and her kids.
