Dr Oz: All-Natural Migraine Solutions
The words splitting, crushing, throbbing, and stabbing are often used to describe the worst type of headaches: migraines. Dr Oz said he had all-natural migraine melters that could help you finally find relief. One of his viewers posted that she was sick of hiding out in a dark, silent room and missing out on life surrendering to the pain of a migraine. She wanted Dr Oz’s help and he couldn’t wait to give her life-changing advice!
She has been suffering from debilitating migraines for five years, saying that her head throbs and it feels like she has a knife stabbing behind her eyes. Dr Oz said migraines are actually pretty common. What happens is that inside the brain, blood vessels will dilate the nerves right next to them will become irritated. He said sometimes the things we put into our bodies or the things around us will cause those blood vessels to dilate. We then get an incredible reaction in our brain: a migraine. So what can you do about it?
Dr Oz: Magnesium & Riboflavin Prevent Migraines
Dr Oz said there are over-the-counter medications for migraines, but often times they come with side effects. That’s why he wanted to share his natural solutions for migraines instead. First, Dr Oz wanted to explain how you can stop a migraine before it even starts. He said you want a lot of magnesium and riboflavin in your foods. You can eat a banana with some almonds or an egg omelet with some spinach to get both of those.
Dr Oz: Feverfew Tea & Raw Ginger For Migraines
Next, Dr Oz said the second you feel the first sensations of a migraine, you should drink feverfew tea. You can find it online or at grocery stores, and is actually pretty tasty. He said he recommends people taking it for headaches in general, not just migraines.
He then moved on to what he called “the hero,” which is ginger. He said when your migraine pain is at it’s worst, raw ginger is the way to go. If you’re suffering, chew on raw ginger, and it will reduce the inflammation that is causing your pain. In a clinical trial, ginger was found to just as effective as a very popular medication that many people are using for migraines. Dr Oz said you can add the pill on top of the natural solution if you want.
