Dr Oz Immunity Boosters: Sickness Prevention
Dr Oz shared some of his best winter health advice with his Winter Rescue Prescription. But he always has more great advice, like how you can keep your immunity strong so you don’t get sick in the first place. His advice includes Astragalus and Shiitake Mushroom Tea.
Dr Oz: Buckwheat Honey Immunity Booster

Dr Oz and a guest shared some of the best immunity boosters you can rely on this winter, including Shiitake Mushroom Tea, Astragalus, and Buckwheat Honey.
Another expert, Tasneem Bhatia, joined the conversation with additional information on ways to improve your immunity this winter. She recommended stocking Buckwheat Honey in every medicine cabinet.
She said all you have to do is eat one or two tablespoons each day to maintain your good health, no matter what the weather. You can eat it plain or stir it into a cup of tea if you prefer.
Dr Oz: Astragalus & Vitamin D3
There are even more ways you can stock your bathroom as a command center to keep yourself and your loved ones healthy through the holidays and into the new year. Here are some other recommended health products.
- N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine – Take 250 mg NAC antioxidant daily.
- Astragalus – Dr Oz has highlighted Astragalus before, and one dropper daily can fight viruses.
- Vitamin D3 – Consume 2000 IU daily all winter to boost immunity while battling any virus.
If you do find yourself sick this winter, just take Astragalus three times a day to speed up recovery time.
Dr Oz: Turmeric Super Immunity
It seems like almost all of Dr Oz’s guests agree that Turmeric is something we need to have more of in our diets. According to Tasneem Bhatia, Turmeric fuels the immune system to beat bacteria and viral infections.
Turmeric is also a powerful digestive aid, and it tastes great because it’s a cooking spice. Try getting one to three teaspoons every day, whether in a stir fry, hearty stew, or other recipe.
Dr Oz: Reishi & Shiitake Mushroom Tea
Hot tea is a winter staple, but why not put it to work for you while you’re enjoying its soothing effects? Reishi & Shiitake Mushroom Tea are immunity boosters, even though we might not think of mushrooms as medicine. Try consuming two cups of this tea every day for maximum health benefits.
