Dr Oz: Feng Shui Creates Ideal Living Space
Ariel Joseph Towne told Dr. Oz Feng Shui is an evolving art and science based on the Chinese idea of living as one with nature. He said he uses the “Red Light, Green Light,” approach to help his clients create a space in their home where they feel comfortable. Towne said Feng Shui starts with the feeling in your gut about how something feels and that feeling is then used to create your ideal living space, one that will help you get a better night’s sleep.
Dr Oz: Feng Shui – Do Not Expose Back When Sleeping
Ariel Joseph Towne explained a better night’s sleep begins with finding a safe spot. This is achieved by placing your bed in a position where your back is not going to be exposed. He likened this to sitting in a restaurant with your back to the door. This can cause unneeded stress which lets you know this a bad position for your Feng Shui.
Dr Oz: Feng Shui – Place Bed In Command Position
Towne said in order to create good Feng Shui in your bedroom, you need to place your bed in the “command” position. This means your bed is placed against a wall where you are facing any doors leading into the room. This will make you feel safer thus helping you sleep better at night.
What if you can’t move your bed around? Arial Joseph Towne said you can use the color red as a form of protection and as a way to make you feel better. He said it is best to place a red carpet on the floor or to place red sheets on your bed to keep you protected and feeling safe.

Another way to improve the Feng Shui in your bedroom is by using restorative items, or those that create negative ions. Towne said these are things found in nature, such as the area where the ocean meets a rock. He said there are two ways to bring those elements into your home:
Himalayan Rock Salt Lamp – When you heat up the lamp it releases negative ions into the atmosphere.
Beeswax Candle – When you burn a beeswax candle it naturally purifies the air by releasing negative ions according to Towne.
Dr Oz: Clear Clutter Out Of Your Mind To Improve Inner Feng Shui
Ariel Joseph Towne said clutter is not always something tangible you can touch or see. Sometimes the clutter is in our heads. He said it is important to create space in your inner “house” to reduce the clutter in your mind and bring better Feng Shui to your life. He suggested taking long baths or writing in a journal as a way to get your thoughts in order and leave a clear inner house.
Dr Oz: Let Go Of Stress Meditation
The final way you can ease into a better night’s sleep is by meditating. Ariel Joseph Towne said it is as simple as just letting go. As you take a deep breath in think of the word “let” and as you exhale think of the word “go” to literally release all the stress from the day.
