Potassium is an important nutrient that we need to get from our foods. Dr Oz shared some of the ways you can tell you may not be getting enough Potassium. Learn about the health problems that can result when we don’t get what our bodies need. Then, get Dr Oz’s Potassium Grocery List.

The first clue about your low Potassium is Brain Fog. One woman told Dr Oz that she can forget her thought while she is speaking. He said this can make us forgetful at any age.

After sharing the symptoms of low Potassium, Dr Oz shared some of the fresh foods from his Potassium Grocery List that can help you get what the body needs.

Heart Palpitations are another common sign of low Potassium. Your heart may pound and could skip a few beats. The heart pumps about once per second, and you may feel when it misses a beat.

Dr Oz: Low Potassium Muscle Spasms

Muscle Spasms and Charley Horses are another complaint that could be related to your lack of Potassium. Dr Oz showed us that muscle fibers can get stuck when they aren’t getting the fluids they need.

Dr Oz: Potassium Grocery List

Dr Oz said that most people only get about half of the Potassium they need. Adults require 4,700 mg each day. However, there are plenty of ways to get what you need by adding the right foods to your diet.

  • Bananas
  • Beans
  • Beets (and Beet Greens)
  • Broccoli
  • Brussels Sprouts
  • Cantaloupe
  • Dried Fruits (Apricots, Dates, etc.)
  • Fish
  • Oranges
  • Papaya
  • Sweet Potatoes
  • Yogurt

Dr Oz: Is Potassium In My Multivitamin?

Dr Oz also recommended taking a Multivitamin that contains Potassium to help boost you in case you are still not getting enough of the foods you need.
