Dr Oz: Best Non-Diary Milk Alternatives
It used to be that all Americans drank whole milk, delivered straight to our doors in those retro glass bottles. But while each American still drinks approximately 20 gallons of milk a year, there are many non-dairy alternatives that are just as popular: rice milk, coconut milk, hemp milk, almond milk, and more.
So what’s the difference between them? And how can you tell which is right for you? Dr. Oz offered some expert advice. Helping him out was Nancy, who is looking to live a dairy-free lifestyle, but still wants to experience the benefits of milk.

Dr Oz shared the best non-dairy milk alternatives, explained soy milk benefits, and spoke with viewers who have finally taken his advice.
Almond Milk
Almond milk is loaded with vitamin E, an important antioxidant which combats wrinkles. Therefore, drinking almond milk will give you better, healthier skin.
Soy Milk Benefits
Soy Milk has the most protein out of all non-dairy milk alternatives. There are so many soy milk benefits, including a sweeter taste. Dr. Oz likes soy milk in his cereal.
Coconut Milk
Coconut milk—in a carton, not a can—is great for boosting energy. It contains fats that are easy for the body to break down.
Flax Milk
Flax milk is great for boosting brain power, because flax seeds are high in Omega 3s. For lunch, try adding a bit of flax milk to low sodium tomato soup for a creamy, yet healthy, dish.
Dr Oz: Wing Flap Energy Booster & Chamomile Tea
Later, Dr. Oz spoke with couples who claim that his advice has had a positive impact on their everyday lives. In fact, it’s the wives who had to convince the husbands that Dr. Oz’s advice is worth listening to!
Chris, who had problems with energy, tries the “wing flap” for a quick boost. It works exactly as you might imagine– quick flaps of the arms for about 30 seconds. He also uses chamomile tea with a few drops of liquid melatonin before bed, another Dr. Oz trick.
Dr Oz: Coconut Oil in Coffee
Mike finally listened to his wife, Lynn, and took some of Dr. Oz’s advice for battling the bulge. He’s stopped adding to his sugar to his coffee, and instead adds coconut oil, a sweet, metabolism-boosting alternative. Just one teaspoon is all you need.
